Special Consideration

ITALIAN WINE ACADEMY (IWA) has policies in place to give reasonable adjustment or special consideration to reduce the effect of a disability or difficulty that may place a candidate at a substantial disadvantage in the assessment situation.

Booking Terms and Conditions

Applications:

 Are made for specific course dates. If the applicant is unable to attend due to mandatory work commitment or illness, IWA will endeavor to find an alternative course date, though this cannot be guaranteed.

Course Availability:

Spaces for classes are allocated according to the order of arrival of the completed applications. Your booking is not secured until payment is received.

Cancellation terms:

If a registration is cancelled, for whatever reason, up to 15 days prior to the beginning of the course, an administrative fee of 50% of the total amount will be charged. If a registration is cancelled, for whatever reason, during the 14 days prior to the beginning of the course or any time after the beginning of the course, the fee remains payable in full.

Exam:

the date of the exam is always communicated in advance and published on the website. Please note that the exam fee is always included in the course fee.

Exam Absentees and Exam Re-sits:

applicants who fail an examination or are absent during the exam, may re-sit it by paying the specific re-sit examination fee.

Outside Candidates:

IWA is open to candidates who wish to sit an exam of a course that they have already concluded in another APP.

Delivery of course materials:

The course material will be sent directly to each student’s home address upon confirmation of payment of the fees.

Course Changes:

we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule any course. Should this occur the applicants will be refunded.

Any personal information collected through this Application Form is for the purpose of registering you to the course and relevant examinations. You are required to fill in all details. Failure to do so may impact on the success of your registration to both the course and exam.

We may use your information to inform you via email or regular post of upcoming courses and events. In accordance with Italian Data Privacy Ordinance, if you do not wish to be kept informed, please indicate it by ticking the box below. Under this Ordinance you also have the right to access and correct your personal information. Please direct any queries regarding this to info@italianwineacademy.org

Data Controller We inform you that, under EU Regulation 2016/679 (hereinafter the “Regulation”), Tradecom S.r.l., with its registered office in Viale del Lavoro n. 8 – 37135 Verona, will be the data controller (“Data Controller”) for your personal data, collected for the purpose of evaluating application for possible employment.

Types of personal data processed The Data Controller will process personal data, falling under the definition in Art. 4(1), including, e.g., your name, surname, mobile phone number, etc., hereinafter collectively referred to as “Personal Data”.

Purpose, legal basis and mandatory / discretionary nature of the processing The personal data will be collected directly from the data subject. Your Personal Data will be processed for the following purpose:

1) sign up and take to the Italian Wine Academy;

2) inform you via email or regular post of upcoming courses and events;

3) publish photos or videos taken during courses.

The legal basis relied on for the processing of Personal Data for purpose  1) is Art. 6(1)(b), as the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract. The legal basis relied on for the processing of Personal Data for purpose  2) is Art. 6(1)(a), as the processing is subject to the acquisition of explicit consent. The legal basis relied on for the processing of Personal Data for purpose  3) is Art. 6(1)(a), as the processing is subject to the acquisition of explicit consent.

You may choose not to provide your Personal Data to the Data Controller for the purpose 1) but, in that case, it will not be possible to gain access to the course.

Method of the processing Your Personal Data may be processed using paper, electronic or other automated means, according to a logic strictly related to the purpose itself or in any case in such a way as to guarantee the confidentiality and security of Personal Data. Recipients and transfers of Personal Data Your Personal Data may be shared with Persons authorised by the Data Controller to process Personal Data, after signing a confidentiality agreement (e.g., certain employees in the Data Controller’s Human Resources / Administration departments), including system administrators, who may have access to Personal Data during the performance of their duties. The names of all authorised persons are available, upon written request to the Data Controller at: privacy@trade-com.com

Retention of Personal Data Your Personal Data will be kept for 10 years.

Your rights

Under Articles 15 and following of the Regulation, you, as a data subject, are entitled to request from the Company, at any time, access to your Personal Data, the correction and erasure of your Personal Data, as well as to object to its processing. You are also entitled to request the restriction of the processing of your Personal Data in the cases set out in Article 18 of the Regulation, as well as to obtain the Personal Data you have provided to the Company in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, in the cases set out in Article 20 of the Regulation.

Requests must be sent in writing to the Data Controller at the following address: privacy@trade-com.com In any case, you are always entitled to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali), under Art. 77 of the Regulation, if you believe that the Data Controller’s processing of your Personal Data is in violation of the applicable law.
